Compustaff History
Carol and Ludi de Klerk, who are still involved in the
day-to-day administration of the company, founded
Compustaff 25 years ago in 1978. They are both current
members of the Institute of Personnel Management and are
registered with the S.A. Board of Personnel Practice.
Compustaff Resources (Pty) Limited, the operating
Company, has been created with a 35% shareholding
dedicated to an Employee Empowerment Trust for current
employees from previously disadvantaged communities. We
have for the last few years actively pursued a training
program for Personnel Consultants with a PDI background.
These Consultants will form the backbone of our Company
in the future and will have a vested interest in its
success and expanded growth.
In 2000, Compustaff purchased its own building in the
heart of Johannesburg’s Central Business District. The
building is registered in the name of Kesmarc 1 Closed
Corporation.
Compustaff Core Business
Compustaff is one of South Africa’s leading and
longest-established Human Resources Consultant
companies. Traditionally, the company has specialised in
servicing the I.T. industry. Two years ago, having
recognised the synergies between the two market sectors,
the company expanded to include Financial Services
recruitment.
The company’s fundamental role is to assist clients in
seeking out the very best skills on the market place,
either on a permanent or contracting basis, within both
of these market sectors.
A measure of Compustaff’s success is that the company is
included on the preferred supplier list of virtually
every major company in South Africa. A worthy testament
to the way the company has provided services to the
market since its inception.
With the maturing of the market Compustaff added to its
offerings by establishing a Contract and Projects
Division in 1980. This enabled Compustaff’s clients to
benefit from:
- Outsourcing of specific projects
- Employing staff for a project’s life
cycle only.
- The ease and flexibility of dealing
with only one company for all their staffing
needs.
